## Wednesday: 12/20/17

__8.EE.B Understand the connections between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations. 8.EE.B.5 Graph proportional relationships, interpreting the unit rate as the slope of the graph. Compare two different proportional relationships represented in different ways. For example, compare a distance-time graph to a distance-time equation to determine which of two moving objects has greater speed.__

**Objective:**__: What does the vertical intercept tell us?__

**Essential Question****I Can**interpret the vertical intercept of a graph of a real-world situation. I can match graphs to the real-world situations they represent by identifying the slope and the vertical intercept.

Today's Agenda:

## Thursday: 12/21/17

Dear ACC7 Students,

Hello! Unfortunately, I cannot be with you today. You are expected to get started RIGHT away when the bell rings at the beginning of the period . Remember, I expect you to be working and not socializing during this time. This is an academic setting, one in which I am holding you accountable for. Please be sure you have chosen your seats where you will work best.

- Complete the packet for Patterns and Algebra that the sub will have for you. Turn this in when you are finished or at the end of class.
- With the remaining time, work on IXL 8th grade P1 - P10; 7th grade K1-K8 or AA5 and AA6.

## Friday: 12/22/17

__8.EE.B Understand the connections between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations. 8.EE.B.6 Use similar triangles to explain why the slope m is the same between any two distinct points on a non-vertical line in the coordinate plane; derive the equation y=mx for a line through the origin and the equation y=mx+b for a line intercepting the vertical axis at b.__

**Objective:**__: How do patterns help us to write linear equations?__

**Essential Question****I Can**write an equation for the relationship between the total volume in a graduated cylinder and the number of objects added to the graduated cylinder. I can use patterns to write a linear equation to represent a situation.

Today's Agenda

- Review yesterday's work
- Representations of Linear Relationships
