__8.EE.C.8 Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.__

**Objective:**__: What can the structure of the equations tell us about their solutions?__

**Essential Question****I Can**use a system of equations to represent a real-world situation and answer questions about the situation.

Today's Agenda:

- Systems of Equations - investigative review - video
- IXL AA1 - AA9
- Return Friday's quiz

## Tuesday: 2/13/18

__8.F.A.1 Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output. Function notation is not required in Grade 8.__

**Objective:**__: What are input-output tables and how do we create rules from them?__

**Essential Question****I Can**write rules when I know input-output pairs. I know how an input-output diagram represents a rule.

__8.F.A Define, evaluate, and compare functions. 8.F.A.1 Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output. Function notation is not required in Grade 8__

**Objective:**__: What are independent and dependent variables?__

**Essential Question****I Can**find the output of a function when I know the input. I can name the independent and dependent variables for a given function and represent the function with an equation.

Today's Agenda:

Dear ACC7 Students,

Hello! Unfortunately, I cannot be with you today. You are expected to get started RIGHT away when the bell rings at the beginning of the period . Remember, I expect you to be working and not socializing during this time. This is an academic setting, one in which I am holding you accountable for. Please be sure you have chosen your seats where you will work best.

- Go to today’s daily agenda and click link for the PARCC online practice. Complete the practice - both sections. When you get to the results page, show the Sub your results so the Sub can record it for Mrs. Scheetz. Take a PARCC record sheet and record your results. Turn this into the bin.
- With the remaining time, work on IXL 8th grade AA1 - AA9; Completing with a minimum of 80% accuracy on a section before moving on.

## Friday: 2/16/18

__8.F.A.1 Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output. Function notation is not required in Grade 8. 8.F.A.3 Interpret the equation y=mx+bas defining a linear function, whose graph is a straight line; give examples of functions that are not linear. For example, the function A=s2 giving the area of a square as a function of its side length is not linear because its graph contains the points (1,1), (2,4) and (3,9), which are not on a straight line.__

**Objective:**__: How do you graph a function from a table?__

**Essential Question****I Can**use a graph of a function to find the output for a given input and to find the input(s) for a given output. I can identify graphs that do, and do not, represent functions.
