## Monday: 3/19/18

__8.SP.A.1 Construct and interpret scatter plots for bivariate measurement data to investigate patterns of association between two quantities. Describe patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, linear association, and nonlinear association.__

**Objective:**__: What does a scatter plot tell us about data?__

**Essential Question****I Can**draw a scatter plot to show data that has two paired variables.

Today's agenda:

- Complete 2.3 activity - scatter plots, but on the iPads with Google Sheets. - video
- 2.2 Google Sheet link (Make sure you look at the tab on the bottom. Are you on your class?)

- IXL T9 T10 T13; must get to smart score of 80 before moving on. Will going in HAC. When you are finished, look at the other skills in IXL, and decide which are the skills you need to practice the most, and work on the skill of your choice.

__8.SP.A.1 Construct and interpret scatter plots for bivariate measurement data to investigate patterns of association between two quantities. Describe patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, linear association, and nonlinear association.__

**Objective:**__: How can we determine what a point on a scatter plot means?__

**Essential Question****I Can**describe the meaning of a point in a scatter plot in context.

Today's Agenda:

* Please note, periods 4-5 did not complete the above. They will do so at the next class meeting.

- Lesson summary for Lesson 2 - video
- What a Point in a Scatter Plot Means

* Please note, periods 4-5 did not complete the above. They will do so at the next class meeting.

## Wednesday: 3/21/18

## Thursday: 3/22/18

__8.SP.A.1 Construct and interpret scatter plots for bivariate measurement data to investigate patterns of association between two quantities. Describe patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, linear association, and nonlinear association. 8.SP.A.2 Know that straight lines are widely used to model relationships between two quantitative variables. For scatter plots that suggest a linear association, informally fit a straight line, and informally assess the model fit by judging the closeness of the data points to the line.__

**Objective:**__: What are outliers? How do we use a model to predict the values for data?__

**Essential Question****I Can**use a model to predict values for data. I can pick out outliers on a scatter plot.
